Today we use spacecraft to find out how the Sun works and also to warn us of any 'attack' coming from the Sun. These spacecraft constantly monitor the Sun and the effects of solar activity. They also explore the region of space around the Earth. These satellites help us to understand the space weather that surrounds the Earth.
