Sun|trek (www.suntrek.org) is an educational website about the Sun, our star, and its effect on the Earth’s environment.
Sun|trek was launched in 2007 and since then the number of visitors has risen to over 20,000 per month. It is now being used by schools throughout the UK, the USA and much further afield.
The iSuntrek website is the latest development which enables links to modern technologies and social media.
It has been produced by a team of solar research scientists, working with teachers and educators.
It is closely linked to the UK school curriculum. Multimedia developers IMDC/ThinkNoodle have worked closely with the Sun|trek team to help them achieve a professional and engaging design, which both educates and captures the imagination of the teachers and students.
The development of Sun|trek has been funded through a National Science and Society Award from Science & Technology Facilities Council.
